Why Mahjong Solitaire Stays Ad-Free
Friends at Mahjong Solitaire shows no ads, for anyone — you won't hit a forced video between boards, a banner over the tiles, or a 'watch an ad to continue' wall.
No ads
A lot of mobile puzzle and solitaire games lean on interstitial and rewarded-video ads to make money, and that kind of ad load can wear on players over time. We built Mahjong Solitaire the other way: play is free in full screen, in your browser, with no download and no registration to start, and no advertisements at any point.
What 'free' actually includes
The free tier includes:
- The first 10 levels of the 100-level Journey
- The full Daily board rotation — one new board every day, generated from the date so everyone plays the same deal
- Every helper: hint, undo, and rescue, as covered in our how-to-play guide
None of that is gated behind watching an ad or waiting out a timer.
A board that won't be lost to a bad shuffle
The other thing that breaks the relaxing feeling of solitaire is a board that quietly becomes unsolvable because of a bad shuffle — you play carefully and then discover there's no legal move left. Every deal in Mahjong Solitaire is checked before it reaches you, so that specific failure isn't something you have to plan around.
Collecting Mahjong objects
The things you earn are Mahjong objects — hand-painted tile sets, tables, racks, mats, and rooms — not gems, energy, or timers. There's nothing you need to buy in order to finish a board.
If you want more Journey
The first 10 Journey levels and the Daily board are free. If you get through the free levels and want the rest of the 100-level Journey, that's unlocked with a one-time purchase — see the current price and details on mahjonggsolitaire.app or in the App Store listing. It's a single payment made once, not a subscription, and it carries over between the web and the app.
No ads, a board that's checked before you see it, and a hint that points out a move instead of playing it for you — that's the whole trade we're making with Journey.
