Mahjong Solitaire With No Timer: Play at Your Own Pace
Mahjong Solitaire on mahjonggsolitaire.app has no timers. Nothing counts down while you play, so you can take as long as you like on every board.
Is there a Mahjong Solitaire with no timer?
Yes. There is no timer to switch off, because the game does not use one. You open a board, look it over and play when you are ready.
The game is free to start, and it runs full screen in your browser. There is no download, and no sign-up is needed to begin.
What else is missing, on purpose
The no-timer idea runs through the whole game:
- No gems, no energy and no timers. Everything you earn is a Mahjong object, and nothing you earn is needed to finish a board.
- No ads. There are no ads for anyone, and none are planned.
- No streaks. The Daily board has no streak to lose, nothing to buy back, and no warning that you are about to lose progress.
Daily Mahjong without the pressure
There is one board a day, and everyone gets the same deal. Miss a day and nothing resets. The board comes from the date rather than from a server, so everyone gets the same one without anybody keeping score.
Why a board can't be lost to a bad shuffle
Every deal is checked before it reaches you, so a board is never lost to a bad shuffle.
How the game works, in four lines
- A tile is playable when nothing covers it and its left or right side is open.
- Tap two matching playable tiles to remove them.
- Blocked tiles are dimmed, so what you can play is always obvious.
- Clear the board and you have won.
The tiles are the real American Mahjong set of 144 tiles, not a match-three variant. You learn them just by playing.
Playing with a friend, still without a clock
You can send a friend the exact board you just played. You can also take the same deal at the same time and compare afterwards. It is private and invite-only, there is no public chat, and nobody has to win for it to be worth doing.
What is free and what is not
The first 10 levels of the 100-level Journey are free, along with the Daily board. The remaining levels are a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The current price is shown on the site.
Play free in full screen. The iPhone app, Friends at Mahjong Solitaire, has its own App Store listing: https://apps.apple.com/app/friends-at-mahjong-solitaire/id6814662217
